The impact biomechanics labs, located in Kelly Hall at Virginia Tech, host research programs that characterize traumatic brain injury (TBI) in living humans. Data collected describes organ-level response to impact and can be used in computational models of the skull and brain to determine the tissue-level response to impact. The Center for Injury Biomechanics is an interdisciplinary research center that is a partnership between the Virginia Tech College of Engineering and the Wake Forest University School of Medicine. The center investigates injury mechanisms following trauma to develop a greater understanding of human tolerance to injury, to engineer enhanced safety countermeasures, and to mitigate the occurrence. A comprehensive set of tools for the university, alumni chapters, and communities to celebrate Virginia Tech’s th anniversary, from July through December See the toolkit here. Warren Hardy Center for Injury Biomechanics Warren Hardy is the director of the Center for Injury Biomechanics and began working with Virginia Tech in December
